User’s information is collected in certain steps of operating the account and availing service. The information will only be used for the purpose of better service of the Kampus and will not be shared with third parties or otherwise without the consent of the user or the requirement of lawful authority.


Registration

Kampus is the application where students from different backgrounds enroll and connect with each other. To create the account, basic information like name, gender, age, email or phone number is a mandatory requirement.

Finding your campus

As the second step, the user's educational background (e.g- class or level your study, your focus, interest or concentration) is collected to connect the kampus people of similar educational background, same campus or department.

Profile

The information related to your bio, school name, the department you have been studying, the start and end date of a course or degree you want to add to your account profile. Including such profile information helps you to get more from our service, like connect more with potential group mates or collaborate in a project.

Whether to include the information on your profile is up to your discretion, since your profile will appear public and any visitor of your profile can learn about your department and institution. Not adding such information will not affect your use or the service of the application. You still can use every feature of the Kampus.

Posts you share

Discussion, Article and Achievement related post:

Only the topic and image relevant to the such shared topic, can be discussed within your campus only. However, you can always control the visibility either limited only to people on your campus or to the public.

Questions post:

In questions, you can select a topic from the drop down and provide a title and describe your question. You can also add images to your questions. The question will be visible to your seniors of similar background and interest containing such knowledge and they are allowed to reply or comment on your quest. However, people who have similar query or interest on the topic can find the question-answers to explore.

Work related post:

In this post type, you can only share a topic, description & embedded link and image relevant to the topics, which is distributed only within your campus. However, you can always control and limit the visibility to the post.

Interactions

The reaction and interaction like upvote or downvote to a post, your comment or responses to any post will be stored only to serve the users and the community better.

We collect information about your activity on our Service, such as your reading posts or being active in the platform or when you share links, upvote, downvote or comment in a post, or reply to any question.

For offline service

Due to tracking technologies, such as cache, a short amount of information in your device will be stored which have been previously accessed or viewed to serve you the content faster, without having to wait for the network. While being offline, you can also go through the homepage of the Kampus, though you may not be able to interact.

Message

Sending messages or mail to other users or communicating through inbox, the data is collected to store your conversation in order for you to access them any time you want. As we do not read or copy the conversations, once you delete a conversation, it cannot be retrieved.

Information we don't collect

We don’t collect information like your personal interest towards a product or services, your liking or disliking towards a topic or field. We do not have marketing or advertising features in our platform, therefore we neither store this information nor use them to attract marketer or advertiser.
We also don’t collect any payment information. Kampus is providing free subscriptions to its users now. Therefore we don’t collect such information.

How do we use your information?

The personal information you share with us like your age, email, phone number or gender, are not shared with any other user on the platform or outside the platform. We only store such information to enhance your user experience and help you find the community you need. The information about your department or level is considered public information in the platform since all the users are from similar backgrounds and this is the core of your community connectivity. Therefore a user might find which class you study and what your focus is. From profile the information you share such as bio or institute you have been to is accessible by other users of the platform. Therefore, if you are uncomfortable sharing such information,we recommend you put those options empty.

How can you control your information?

Kampus is a public platform where features like friends or followers are not available. Therefore, every post you make is not completely for a very limited number of people like friends or followers. Although, while uploading a post you can always select the privacy policy and control the access of your. If you make it public then visitors from other departments can see your post but can not interact with comments or upvote/downvote. On the contrary, if you want to post for your fellow classmates who are only members of your same department you can select campus only and that post will no longer be visible to the people outside of your department.
